The European country of Bulgaria has recorded a total of additional 439 cases of the novel coronavirus, as per the unified information portal of May 6, 2022. These fresh COVID-19 infections have been detected of the additional 6373 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate of the new COVID-19 cases stands at 7%, the portal’s data further adds. Along with this, a total of twelve (12) patients with the viral illness lost their lives to COVID in the past day. Around 58.33% of the deceased belonged to the category of unvaccinated individuals.
The total count of COVID-19 active cases in the Balkan state has increased to 132,914.
There are a total of 1922 patients who got recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours. For the present time, there are a total of 762 patients with the COVID-19 virus in the hospital facilities of the country. As per the data of the portal, a total of seventy-seven (77) patients are in intensive care units.
During the last day, ninety-three (93) patients with the viral disease were admitted to hospitals in Bulgaria, of which 70% were not vaccinated.

Till May 5, 2022, there are a total of 2,056,625 citizens of Bulgaria who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the disease. This number of Bulgarian citizens represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population.
On the other hand, there are a total of 749,118 individuals who are fully immunized and have also taken their third dose, that is, booster shots of the COVID vaccines. This number of Bulgarian citizens computes for nearly 10.8% of the total targeted eligible population, the official data further reveals.
