Beijing, China: Tatiana Volozhanina and Lachezara Pekova left this morning to participate in the XXth FISU Summer World University Games to be held in Chandu, China.
The leader of the Bulgarian delegation is the Vice President of the BFHG, Neviana Vladinova. The judge for Bulgaria of this competition will be the international judge category “Breve” – Valya Markova.
The rhythmic gymnastics competition will take place from July 29 to July 31. The competition includes a fight and finals of the individual devices in the individual and ensemble competitions.
The FISU World University Games are held every two years in different cities. This celebration of International University Sports and Culture draws thousands of student-athletes together to compete, making it one of the largest and most prestigious multisport events in the world.
Embracing FISU’s motto of excellence in mind and body, the Summer Edition of the World University Games incorporates educational and cultural aspects, encouraging student-athletes across the world to combine high sporting performance with their intellectual pursuits.
The twelve-day competition program of the Summer Universiade includes fifteen compulsory sports. To stay at the forefront of sports development and innovation, organizers can consist of up to three optional sports from the FISU-recognized sports list and the FISU World University Championship program in their event.
In the year 2003, The Tegu Summer Universiade saw a record-breaking 174 countries compete in the Republic of Korea. A decade later, the Kazan Summer Universiade in 2013 attracted a record 11,759 participants in this Russian city.
Additionally, the Bulgarian Rhythmic gymnastic federation wished Happy Birthday to Aneta Gelemenova, president and Head Coach of SKHG Brilliant Plovdiv.
