On August 24, at the Sredec Gallery of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Art Project “Stone Embroidery from Nova Kakhovka on Textiles” by the Ukrainian artist Tetyana Bolgarova was presented.
The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Bulgaria and with the support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture.
“How do you make art when you are forced twice to flee Russian aggression? First with his child in Crimea and then in Kherson. Today Tatiana Bolgarova lives in Bulgaria and I have the honor of presenting you her project “Stone Embroidery by Nova Kakhovka on Textiles”.
This is what the Minister of Culture Krastu Krastev said at the opening of Ukrainian Tetyana Bolgarova’s exhibition. The exhibition marks the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The exhibition can be viewed until September 1 at the Sredets Gallery.
The minister noted that Bolgarova’s project presents three-dimensional textile panels – part of Ukraine’s cultural heritage that must be saved. Unfortunately, Nova Kakhovka is also the subject of a deliberate explosion of a dam wall with major consequences in the Black Sea region, he noted.
“Ever since this barbaric attack of Ukraine by the Russian side began, the invaders have been destroying the historical cultural heritage of Ukraine every day. And I, as the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and as a person directly connected to culture throughout my life, strongly condemn these barbaric and inhuman actions by the Russian side”, he said.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Bulgaria N. Pr. Olesya Ilashchuk expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Minister Krastu Krastev for this exhibition. “Thank you for supporting us, for supporting Ukraine,” she said.
