The administrative centre of Gabrovo informed through its social media account that there is no danger of overflowing the Hristo Smirnenski Dam.
They claim that information released on various social media platforms about the critical values of the water level in the Hristo Smirnenski Dam in Gabrovo needs to be corrected.
At present, there is no danger of overflowing the water supply. The dam level is monitored 24/7, with over 1,500,000 cubic meters of free volume Meters.
The given values belong to a similar-name reservoir in Montana. The information has now been corrected on the national media site that initially distributed the news.
The rumours occurred due to a declared state of emergency in force in the municipalities of Berkovitsa and Georgi Damyanovo after torrential rains. The flood water caused damage to the infrastructure in some areas, with flooded houses and yards.
Around 100 houses were flooded in Berkovitsa. By late night, almost everything had been drained. The roads are still passable, and some basements remain flooded.
