Streets Heart BG, an NGO in Bulgaria that rescues abandoned dogs and puppies, reported that their shelter is over capacity. There are 35 dogs on the streets waiting to come in, and the snow and bitter cold make their working conditions difficult.
It’s a stressful time for the entire Street Hearts BG team, which has only been made worse by one man’s selfish actions.
At the weekend, a local gentleman decided he didn’t want to deal with the seven puppies born to his unneutered female dog. Streets Hearts BG offered assistance, but he replied that he had a waiting list of dogs on the streets desperate to come to the shelter.
The NGO informed that they offered to neuter the mother dog free of charge and that Lucy would call him this week to make plans for the mother and the puppies. However, this needed to be better for him.
The man has not only refused to neuter his dog, and he has dumped the puppies in the village next to ours. They are very distinctive Caucasian shepherd puppies, so the NGO believe he has a male and female dog as they are pure breed.
“We will have to explain to people and the municipality why we cannot bring dogs in desperate need on the streets. All the man had to do was wait a while until we had room in the shelter”, remarked NGO’s head.
Street Hearts BG further claims that puppies are now in their complete care. However, they urgently need help to provide food and veterinary treatment for themselves and the other dogs in the shelter.
The NGO politely requested that If anyone wants to donate, even if it’s a small amount, they will be extremely grateful. “Please help us to help the dogs that no one wants”.
