According to the law, you must register your dog if you live in Bulgaria. The registration of dogs will be continued till March 31. Neuter dogs are exempt from an annual fee. This year, the charitable organisation Streets hearts BG will continue the joint campaign with the Municipality of Dryanovo to humanely reduce the number of stray dogs in the Municipality.

Municipal of Dryanovo reminds owners of pet dogs that by March 31, they must pay an annual fee for owning a pet dog, which according to the Decision of the Obs – Dryanovo, is as follows:
– BGN 10.00 for the city of Dryanovo;
– BGN 5.00 for villa areas and villages on the territory of the Municipality.

– owners of neutered dogs, dogs of disabled persons, dogs that accompany or guard farm animals raised in a registered breeding facility, hunting dogs, and property of persons who have obtained the right to pursue under the Law of Hunting and Wildlife Protection are exempted from the fee.

When paying the fee for owning a pet dog at the Municipal Administration Information Center – City Dryanovo, Tsareva Livada Township or one of the mayoral deputies in the Municipality, you need to carry a cardboard – “Dog Ownership Certificate” issued upon its initial registration.

The deadline for Pre-registration of a Pet dog expires on March 31; under the provisions of Regulation No. 1, failure to comply with the obligation to register or re-registration is imposed a fine of BGN 100.

For owners who acquired dogs this year:

Dog owners should take action on filing a declaration under Article. 117 of the Law on Local Taxes and Fees within three months from the date of acquisition – in the Municipality at the permanent address/seat of the owner.

The declaration includes a copy of a veterinary passport certifying the presence of a marker (implanted chip) ensuring the dog’s identification. By placing tags/chips/ dogs will be tracked, and in their eventual targeted abandonment, the owners will be sanctioned by the competent authorities.

According to article 118, take it 1 of the SCF; the fee is paid annually until March 31 of the corresponding year or within one month from the dog’s acquisition date when it was acquired after March 31. For dogs acquired during the current year, the fee is due one-twelfth of the annual and the amount for each month until the end of the year, including the month of acquisition.
