Andrey kovatchev, member of the European Parliament, reported that after the Bulgarian club’s arson in Bitola, damaging and shooting at the Ohrid club, Bulgarians in North Macedonia are on the verge of things happening with fatal consequences.

He disclosed that the secretary of the Bulgarian club in Ohrid, Christian Pendikov, was brutally beaten by a Macedonian gang. The boy is in hospital, in serious condition.

Macedonian residents have performed numerous violations on the Bulgarian cultural club Tsar Borris III since its inauguration.

Around 10 pm on January 19, Pendikov went to the bar with a girl. He was insulted by Spaseski’s group. Later three Macedonians attacked him, which resulted in broken ribs and jaw.

Kovatchev said, “We all need to open our eyes today – what happened to Pendikov is no accident! Verbal, mental, physical violence against Bulgarians from Northern Macedonia is an everyday routine and norm that rests on the institutional anti-Bulgarian propaganda”.

He stressed that hatred against Bulgarians and Bulgaria is a mass phenomenon in the media, social networks, textbooks, and institutions. Not only are the ruling and opposition in Skopje not effectively opposing this joint hate speech, but they belittle, justify and even justify such actions.

Kovatchev also urged the Bulgarian authorities for an immediate and firm reaction to the incident that happened in Skopje last night. “I call for Skopje to demand what has been done in all previous incidents last year, what are the penalties, and where are the punished”?, said Parliament member.

He further explained that Bulgarians who support Macedonia now understand and have been explaining wisely to the Bulgarian government for years that everything was fine in Skopje and support them unreservedly and unconditionally.

The Parliament member also suggested that Bulgarian authorities should suspend all concrete actions regarding the continuation of the process of EU membership negotiations of the PCM until the Skopje administration do not take clear, bold and concrete steps against violence and threats against Bulgarians and eradicate hate speech against Bulgaria.
