In the Vidin village of Gamzovo, four teenagers between the ages of 10 and 17 beat a 59-year-old man to death, according to the press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs-Vidin.
Two Gamzovo villagers went to the police yesterday at 2:15 p.m. to report that their fellow villagers had been beaten late on January 1. They discovered the man on January 2 in the yard in front of his home at about midday. When the police arrived at the address in the village, they discovered the 59-year-old man’s lifeless body with obvious evidence of the assault.
A task force and an investigator examined the scene in the presence of a medical examiner. The body was brought to the MBAL-Vidin for an autopsy.
The investigators recognised four boys from the village as participants in the major crime throughout the course of the urgent search efforts. Three adolescents, ages 15, 16, and 17, were held in custody for up to 24 hours using a police measure. Under Regulation I-51, police protection was given to a 10-year-old child.
On the checklist of the District Investigation Department of the District Prosecutor’s Office-Vidin, an investigation file for this case was opened.
