Sofia, Bulgaria: The market price of vegetables in the European country is witnessing a decline consecutively. The official information reports that the Market Price Index (MPI) decreased by 0.52%. MPI reflects the wholesale food prices in the European country.Â
The fall in the rate has been reported for the 5th consecutive week; therefore, since the beginning of May month, the overall rate of vegetables has decreased by 5.26% in Bulgaria. The data has been shared by the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (SCCEM).Â
Below is the full list of reduced prices –Â
- Greenhouse tomatoes – fell by 8.4%, current price –Â Â BGN 3.28 per kilogram.
- Greenhouse cucumbers – reduced by 16%, current price –Â BGN 1.84 per kilogram.
- Carrots – fell by 3.4%, current price –Â BGN 1.15 per kilogram (wholesale).Â
- Cabbage – fell by 2.1%, current price –Â BGN 0.93 per kilogram.
- Salads – decreased by 3 cents, current price –Â Â 0.77 leva per piece.
- Strawberries – fell by 8.6%, current price –Â BGN 3.62 per kilogram (wholesale).Â
- Cherries – decreased by 21.7%, current price –Â BGN 3.67 per kilogram.
- Vitosha yellow cheese – fell by 0.3%, current price –Â BGN 15.08 per kilogram.
- Chicken Meat – cheaper by 2.5%, current price –Â BGN 5.52 per kilogram.
Following is the list of rised prices of items –
- Potatoes – increased by 3.8%, current price –Â BGN 1.08 per kilogram.
- Apples – rose by 3 cents, the current price –Â BGN 1.34 per kilogram.
- Lemons – an increase of 12.6%, current price –Â BGN 2.51 per kilogram.
- Cow cheese – a hike of 0.3%, current rate –Â BGN 9.75 per kilogram
- A packet of 125 grams of butter – risen by 1 penny, current price –Â BGN 2.69.
- Sugar – increased by 2 cents, current rate –Â BGN 2.14 per kilogram
- Flour type “500”- risen by 3.5%, current price –Â BGN 1.46 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, no change has been reported in the price of eggs, that is, BGN 0.27 per piece.
