Bulgaria confirms 1960 new COVID cases

Sofia, Bulgaria: As per the information shared in the unified information portal of March 22, 2022, a total of additional 1960 cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in Bulgaria. This brings the total number of COVID-19 active infections in the European country to 190,664. 

Meanwhile, the overall count of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the European nation has also been hiked to 1 126 146. The positivity rate of fresh COVID infections stands at 11.96%, which resulted positive from the additional 16 390 COVID-19 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The toll of the active cases of March 21 has witnessed a decline by 2424. 

Besides this, a total of forty-eight (48) patients of the COVID-19 viral disease lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the death rate of Bulgaria to 36 330, as of March 22, 2022.  

There are a total of 4336 patients of the virus who got recovered from the viral illness and were discharged from the hospital facilities, as per data shared in the official portal of March 22. This takes the overall tally of Bulgaria’s recovery rate of 899 152. 

For the present time, there are a total of 2106 patients of the COVID-19 virus who are in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, including the newly admitted 292 patients, according to the data of the official portal. 

Meanwhile, there are a total of 246 COVID-19 patients who are in intensive care units. This number has witnessed a decline by nine as compared to that of March 21. 

To date, there are a total of 2,056,814 individuals who have received their recommended number of the COVID-19 jabs and are hence fully vaccinated against the viral disease. This number represents around 29.7% of the total population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 711 024 citizens of Bulgaria who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccines, representing nearly 10.3% of the total population.
