New Delhi, India: According to Khalsa Vox, the World Sikh Chamber of Commerce (WSCC) recently held an event to honour charitable leaders and mark the beginning of its regional chapter in Amritsar.
Yesterday, the event was held at WSCC. The event’s main goal was to give Sikh entrepreneurs, businessmen, and intellectuals a networking venue to meet, exchange ideas, and further the Sikh values of seva or charity.
Parmeet Singh Chadha, the WSCC’s global chairman, presided over the cornerstone laying, while Rajinder Singh Marwaha was chosen to serve as the branch’s president in Amritsar, according to Khalsa Vox.
During the event, 13 kind Sikhs who have contributed significantly to numerous humanitarian programmes meant to enhance the lives of underprivileged Sikhs were also recognised.
Among those awarded were renowned philanthropist Inderjit Singh Gogoani, retired educator Navtej Singh Novelty, journalist Jaswant Singh Jass, and Harinderpal Singh Chugh of Hemkunt Builders.
Khalsa Vox reported that Additional Sessions Judge PS Rai, Principal BS Ball, Parvinder Singh, Amarjit Singh, Surinder Kaur, Dolly Sarabjit Singh Raju, Inderbir Singh Walia, and Satinder Singh were among the others to get awards.
The organisation was started in 2020 to provide Sikh entrepreneurs and charities with a place to connect, share ideas, and further the Sikh principles of selflessness and civic engagement—italics in original.
