Castries, Saint Lucia: On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre of Saint Lucia, will provide estimates of Revenue and Spending for 2023/24. There will be a live stream of the discussion.

The estimates of revenue and expenditure for 2023–2024 will be publicised soon. Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia suggested the residents of Saint Lucia keep informed.

“We pledged to the people of Saint Lucia to prioritise them in all decisions. The success and happiness of every Saint Lucian will be at the centre of the Prime Minister’s presentation of the Estimates of Income and Spending for 2023–2024. Tomorrow at 4 o’clock, tune in, the deputy prime minister advised.

Ernest Hilaire, the deputy prime minister, announced on his official Facebook page that the government of Saint Lucia is dedicated to the welfare of its citizens. He claimed that the bill will ensure the success and well-being of every single resident living on the island.

“We pledged to the Saint Lucian people that we would prioritise them in all of our decisions. All Saint Lucians’ progress and well-being will be the primary goals of the Prime Minister’s presentation of the Estimates of Income and Spending for 2023–2024. Watch tomorrow at 4 o’clock, advised the deputy prime minister.

The Estimates of Revenue and Spending for the years 2023–2024 will be presented to the House of Assembly of Saint Lucia by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Philip J. Pierre on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.

According to the guidelines of the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, No. 14 of 2020, the estimates will include a report on the revenue that the government expects to earn as well as the maximum amount it intends to spend for the fiscal year 2023–2024.

The Estimates of Revenue and Spending will also include the following:

  • Information on predicted revenue collections.
  • Annual expenditure plans for government agencies.
  • Programme performance data. 

The country’s fiscal situation, including the primary balance, overall surplus/deficit, total revenue, and expenditure, will also be highlighted by the Ministry of Finance.
