Dominica: Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has expressed his condolences on the death of the Archbishop Emeritus of Castries, Saint Lucia. Cardinal Kelvin Felix hailed from Dominica and was a clerk of significant standing in the country.

Notably, Cardinal Felix was highly respected among the people of the island and had a very profound impact on the lives of many people in Dominica. Acknowledging the crucial affect of his death on the people, PM Skerrit extended his most prodound condolences  on behalf of the government.

Notably, the deceased man of honor entered the priesthood in 1956. Further, he was consecrated Archbishop in 1981. He served the Christian community as the President of the Antilles Episcopal Conference. He also headed the Caribbean Conference of Churches in his lifetime.

Kelvin Felix was given the title of the Cardinal by Pope Francis in the year 2014. He was the first catholic priest to be ordained in Dominica. He had lived a life full of laurels and appreciation.

He made his homeland and the region proud through his work and dedication to the community in the Caribbean. Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit highlighted that Cardinal Kelvin Felix received the highest honor of the country, Dominica Award of Honour.

He received the award in the year 1999, in appreciation and acknowledgement of his remarkable contributions. While mourning the death of the Archbishop Emeritus of Castries, Saint Lucia, PM Skerrit recalled his contributions to the church and the people who have faith in the religion.

He extended his deepest support to the members of his family, who were dealing with this profound loss.  The people, whose lives Cardinal Felix had touched were also deeply affected by the loss.

Accordingly, The Prime Minister of Dominica also extended his condolences to the condolences to the Catholic community in the Caribbean. The Prime Minister’s post attracted a lot of attention from the members of the community in Dominica.

They also came forward to express their feelings on the death. Some of these commentors had known the deceased all of their lives and considered him as part of their families.
