Roseau, Dominica: From July 12 to July 16 – 2023, Dominica will host the first test match of India’s tour of the West Indies test series. The game is scheduled to take place at Windsor Park Stadium. After 12 years, Dominica has again welcomed the Indian men’s cricket team at Nature Island of the Caribbean.

Since the Citizenship by Investment Programme (CBI) launched in Dominica in 1993, the island country has made rapid developments and finished a number of improvements, which have attracted HNWIs and other international organizations to organize sports and entertainment events benefiting the locals by creating numerous employment opportunities.

The last time the Indian Men’s Cricket Team, also known as the Men in Blue, visited Dominica and Windsor Park was in 2011 when Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid were playing together as teammates.

Rahul Dravid has now become the coach of the Indian cricket team. The Men in Blue arrived in Dominica on July 7 and started a three-day training camp to prepare for their first test match at Windsor Park Stadium. They received a warm welcome from Dominican Tourism Ministry on their arrival after 12 long years.

Under the CBI Programme, the sports facilities of Dominica were upgraded, making it capable of hosting international sporting events. It has a 12000-seat capacity, five cricket pitches, a media centre, practice nets, a players’ personality complex, and private boxes.

With the support of the Citizenship by Investment program, Dominica has made significant improvements to its sporting facilities, which have benefited the island country and attracted visitors from different regions of the world, resulting in the rapid growth of the tourism industry.
