Sofia, Bulgaria: Yordanka Fandakova, mayor of Sofia, informed through her social media account that yesterday, The Municipality of Sofia started constructing another new kindergarten in the Vitosha district. She remarked that this is the 22nd kindergarten building currently under construction in Sofia, and 15 of the gardens will be completed by the end of the year and will provide over 2000 new spaces.
Kindergarten in the district “Knyazhevo”, whose construction Sofian Municipality is beginning, is for seven groups and will provide new places for 170 children.
Mayor Fandakova stated that 1/3 of the shortage of kindergarten space is currently in the Vitosha district, so the community is among the pioneers in the construction of new kindergartens.
According to her, Mayor Teodor Petkov, mayor of the Vitosha region is among the most active in conducting urban planning and construction procedures for the construction of kindergartens and nurseries.
Mayor Fandakova also noted that in the summer, the Municipality of Sofia will begin the school’s construction with a kindergarten in Monastery Meadows – West. By the end of the year, two new buildings will be completed for six groups.
The development in Sofia continues as the restoration of Raina Knyaginya’s house progresses. After the repair, it is expected to complete in the summer and become part of the Sofia History Museum. All authentic elements are preserved, and the preserved artefacts will be part of the museum exhibition.
Sofia’s mayor emphasised that the building has been finished over the years. Therefore the primary objective was to clear the entire space to restore it to its original form.
As per the district mayor’s recommendation, “Serdika” Eng. Todor Krastev, the house was declared a monument of local culture, and he took on the restoration, for which we provided funds from the municipal budget.
