Sofia, Bulgaria: A total of new 549 cases of the novel coronavirus have been detected by the health staff of Bulgaria in the last 24 hours, as per the information shared in the unified information portal on June 29. The positivity rate of these new cases has been computed for nearly 12%. 

With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Bulgaria hiked to 1,171,235.

Among the new cases, 57.56% of them belonged to the category of unvaccinated individuals, the official data further adds. 

Meanwhile, 2 COVID patients lost their lives to the deadliest mutant in the last 24 hours, taking the total death rate of the European country to 37,249. At least 1460 COVID patients recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours and got discharged from the hospital facilities. Therefore, the total recovery rate of the Balkan state at present is at 1,073,969. 

For the time, there are a total of 339 people with SARS Cov 2 in the hospital facilities of the European country, including the recently admitted forty-three (43) COVID patients. There are a total of twenty-six (26) patients in intensive care units – ICU.

Additional 1160 COVID vaccines were administered in Bulgaria within 24 hours, bringing the total count of the administered doses to 4,408,643 by June 29. 

Till June 27, there have been a total of 2,061,478 individuals in Bulgaria who had taken their required number of doses and are now in the category of fully vaccinated individuals. This number of individuals represents nearly 29.8% of the total targeted eligible population of the European country, as per the official statistics present. 

Of the total newly admitted COVID patients, around 69.77% are unvaccinated.
