Sofia, Bulgaria: COVID-19 pandemic changed the way of living of people affecting the economy and millions of livelihoods. The European country recorded a total of 152 new cases of the novel coronavirus during the last 24 hours. The data was shared in the unified information portal of June 16, 2022.

These new cases have been detected of the total additional 3,091 tests conducted by the healthcare staff at the testing sites during the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of the new cases remains at 4.91%. As per the data, around 67.1% of the total fresh COVID cases reported were not vaccinated.

There are a total of 1160 COVID patients got recovered from the virus and have been discharged from the hospital facilities.

At the present time, there are a total of 249 COVID patients in the hospital facilities of Bulgaria, including the recently admitted nineteen (19) patients. Of this total number, at least 78.9% of the individuals belonged to the category of the unvaccinated population. There are a total of twenty-eight (28) patients in intensive care units – ICU.

Additional 447 doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the European country during the last 24 hours.

COVID-19 vaccination rate of Bulgaria:

According to the data, till June 15, there are a total of 2,060,741 individuals in Bulgaria who had received the required recommended number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and now belong to the category of fully immunized. This number of individuals accounts for around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population of the European country, the official data further adds.

Bulgaria contains the lowest vaccination rate in the entire European region.
