New 5023 infections reported with 93 deaths in Bulgaria.

Sofia, Bulgaria: According to the unified information portal report of February 17, 2022, there are a total of 5023 additional cases of the deadliest viral disease of COVID-19 has been recorded in the European country, bringing the total count of active cases in Bulgaria to 257,265.

As per the data, a total of 25, 067 COVID-19 tests (including RT-PCR & Rapid Antigen) were conducted by the healthcare staff in 24 hours, of which the positivity rate turned out to be 20.03 percent. Since the outbreak, Bulgaria recorded a total of 1, 054, 566 confirmed infections of the novel coronavirus to date.

Along with these new cases, ninety-three (93) people who contracted the deadliest COVID-19 virus in the European country scummed to the illness. With reporting of these additional deaths, the overall death count of Bulgaria has risen to 34, 779, as of February 17, 2022.

The official portal’s statics further highlights that 5078 patients recovered and got discharged from the hospital establishments on February 17, 2022, taking the total recoveries calculation to 762, 522. At present, there are around 5639 COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital, including the recent 639 newly admitted.

Of this data, 594 patients are currently in the Intensive Care Unit, which is seven less than the statics shared in the previous day report.

In terms of vaccination, 5407 additional COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

As of February 17, 2022, there are a total of 2,032,358 persons in the European country who are fully inoculated with taking their required number of the vaccine doses, counting for around 29.3% of the total Bulgarian population.

Meanwhile, 663,265 individuals are the ones who are fully vaccinated against the mutant and have also received a dose of the booster shot. This number computation reaches 9.6% of the total eligible Bulgarian population.
