PM Roosevelt Skerrit meets Port Workers of Dominica

The ground-breaking ceremony for the much-talked-Marina for Portsmouth will take place this year, on May 25th

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit has met with the Port workers of Portsmouth. The gathering included important conversation with the group that considered the groundbreaking ceremony of the much talked ‘Marina’, which will take place on May 25, 2024.

For the same, Prime Minister Skerrit has shared a video on his official Facebook handle, in which it is clear that a group of Port Workers have gathered to meet the PM for a significant purpose.

Earlier, in the beginning of the month, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced that the ground-breaking ceremony for the much-talked-Marina for Portsmouth will take place this year, on May 25th. The announcement was made by the PM during a Parliamentary session.

Considerably, the vision for a Marina holds the plans for the development of Portsmouth and the Cabrits. While revealing about this major project, PM Skerrit said that they will have a ground-breaking ceremony which by the Grace of God will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 for Marina in Portsmouth.

Prime Minister Skerrit has also mentioned that plans for a Marina in the Roseau South Constituency and said, “We started discussing that already.”

He highlighted that a cruise village will also be constructed along with a new cargo port that will be placed at the Canefield Industrial Site.

PM Skerrit said enlightened that when they get these things, the Marina, the International Airport, Geothermal coming in, the Cruise Ship village, the new Cargo Port with the modern technology that all require and all of the hotels that they are building, will finally be opened and all they need is to work together and encouraged for the same.

“We will not always agree but let us work together, let us be positive, let us be constructive, let’s not seek to undermine the efforts of the country because at the end of the day, as it is recognized, when a storm comes everyone is affected,” encouraged the Prime Minister.
