Gabrovo, Bulgaria: Gabrovo District is grappling with road closures and power outages, with emergency teams working tirelessly to restore normalcy to the region.
The Gabrovo-Uzana road has now reopened, providing a crucial lifeline for residents. However, six other road sections within the Republican Road Network remain closed, posing logistical challenges for the affected communities, as the Regional Road Administration – Gabrovo reported.
The closed roads include Kereka – Dryanovo – Gostilica, the bypass Sevlievo – Veliko Tarnovo near Dobromirka, Agatovo – Kramolin, Kormiansko-Malki Vrshets, and Kormiansko – Kramolin. These closures have prompted diversions and detours, impacting travel plans and necessitating alternative commuter routes.
Amidst these challenges, the Regional Road Administration is actively working on addressing the closures and ensuring the safety of the affected areas.
Emergency teams have been deployed to restore electricity in settlements throughout the Gabrovo district. Significant progress has been made, with electricity successfully reinstated in 57 settlements.
However, 53 settlements remain without power, and fieldwork is ongoing to rectify the situation, according to information provided by Energo-Pro.
In response to these adversities, local authorities have made decisions to facilitate the resumption of everyday life in the affected municipalities.
Starting from November 28, the learning process in schools and kindergartens in the municipalities of Tryavna and Gabrovo and in the city of Sevlievo will be restored.
However, exceptions apply to certain educational institutions. The day for the base of DG Mickey Mouse in the village of Vranilovci and Base 2 of DG “Bear the Pooh” in the village of Popovtsi, along with PGTM in the town of Gradnica, Primary School “St. sv. Cyril and Methodius” in Gradnica, Primary School “St. sv. Cyril and Methodius” in Dusevo, Primary School “Vasil Levski” in The Forest, Primary School “St. Petersburg sv. Cyril and Methodius” in P. Slaveykov, Primary School “St. Thessaloniki Brothers” in Kramolin, Primary School “Hristo Botev” in Dobromirka, and the kindergarten with branches “Winnie the Pooh” in Petko Slaveykov village, will remain non-educational.
As the community bands together to overcome these challenges, local authorities urge residents to remain vigilant, follow safety protocols, and cooperate with emergency teams.
The coming days will undoubtedly be crucial as recovery efforts continue and the region works towards returning to normalcy.
In the face of adversity, the resilience and solidarity of the Gabrovo community shine through, demonstrating the strength and determination to overcome obstacles and rebuild.
