Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Terrance Drew, Prime Minister and Minister of Health of St Kitts and Nevis, participated in a one-on-one interview on the Issues SKN show on Thursday and discussed important issues related to the development of St Kitts and Nevis.

He mainly highlighted the essential concerns that are affecting the island nation of St Kitts and Nevis, the year’s end, policies of the government and the government’s approach to solving the issues.

PM Drew started the interview by sending condolences to the family of Rudolph Morton, a former member of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party who recently passed away.  The Prime Minister of twin island federation said, “His contributions will never be forgotten.”

August 5, 2023, marked the completion of the first year of governance by the SKNLP. In an interview, PM Drew acknowledged that the past year had been challenging, as anticipated. However, he expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of his colleagues in successfully overcoming these challenges.

“The first year was challenging”. I expect this to be difficult. It cannot be anything else but challenging. The question is, How do you overcome this difficulty in order to put Saint Kitts and Nevis on a path towards development and prosperity while also positively meeting the requirements of the populace?

Prime Minister Drew said in the interview that he was interested in learning from people about the changes they had noticed in the country since the PM Drew-led administration took office.

Minister Drew mentioned that good governance was established. It was really important to establish for the development and welfare of the country. With good governance, one can have the opportunity to do what he wants to fulfil.

He said, “In my whole life, this year has been the one with the steepest learning curve. I believe, however, that I was ready for the psychological challenge, the mental challenge, and the physical challenge. Due to the fact that I have a lot of political experience”.
