Plovdiv, Bulgaria: Botev Plovdiv, the Plovdiv-based Football club, informed through its social media account that the Canaries are focused on increasing its defensive power to perform more efficiently in season 2023/24.
Today, the club signed attracting defender Jonas Tamm. Estonia’s best footballer for 2022, who signed a 2-year contract with the “Canaries”. He was born on February 2, 1992 in Estonia. The defender impresses with his height – 192cm. , and in his career, he has played through a number of teams in his homeland and Europe.
The defender was previously part of the Romanian FCSB, playing 35 games in the Romanian championship last season, in which he scored three shots. Tamm is Estonia’s national, being one of the leading football players in the defence of his homeland. So far in his career, the defender has 53 matches for his country, in which he has scored four goals.
In 2022, Tamm won the award for his country’s best footballer, which was consistently presented to former Liverpool player Ragnar Clavan between 2014 and 2019. After arriving at Hristo Botev stadium, he said, “Hello, my name is Jonas Tamm. I am happy to join the club and look forward to the season. ONLY BOTEV.”
Additionally, the club today presented the primary team for the new season. “Yellow-Black” released a series of photos and a video for the latest team, a unique production of the Italian manufacturer Macron.
The jersey is a reference from the last season before the return to the Hristo Botev Stadium, namely the 2013/14 season. From the new season, the footballers’ names on the jerseys will be written in Cyrillic.
In the inner part of the “yellow-black” stripe stands the slogan of the “canaries” – Beauty, Faith, Struggle. Football players Stanislav Rabotov, Reda Rabei and Martin Sekulich posed with the new teams.
The Botevists will debut with the new teams in the derby with the city rival Lokomotiv. The teams from Sunday will be available for the “yellow and black” fans. The official match jersey is priced at BGN 99 and will be available at the College Fan Shop.
