Book for Father Evstati Yankov brought children to summer camp in Chepelare

Chepelare, Bulgaria: From July 4 to July 8, 2023, at a summer camp in the town of Chepelare, children from the Welfare-Orthodoxy Club at the Dr Ivan Seliminski Primary School – the city of Sliven, as well as their friends, visited various places in the town for exploration planned according to the book of Father Evstati.

The leaders of the group were the teachers Anna Ilieva and Miroslava Teneva. The children visited the National Astronomical Observatory “Rozhen” and the National Community Center “Rhodope Spark 1880 – Chepelare”, museums and natural attractions in our municipality’s territory and the Central Rhodopes.

The location of the camp was chosen because of the book: “Protoy Evstati Yankov Evstatiev (1886-1952). Bulgarian father, John Kronshadski”.

The guests honoured the memory of Father Evstati at the commemorative plaque in front of his home and in the Temple of St. Athanasius, where they affectionately performed tropari of various saints and songs based on the poems of Abbot Valentina Drumeva.

Chepelare Municipality organized for camp participants a meeting with the author of the book – Stefan Ilchevski, where they learned more about the life and activities of Archpriest Evstati Yankov. In the end, the municipal leadership gifted books to the attendees, and then each of them received an autograph from the author. The event ended with a light
