Sofia, Bulgaria: Yordanka Fandakova mayor of Sofia, informed through her official Facebook account that, today, four more new trams have arrived in Sofia this week. They will run along line number 4.Â
She remarked that this year, the Municipality delivered 29 new trams for lines 4, 5 and 18. The first 25 were purchased with funds from the Environmental operational program, and were able to order these four trams by saving the funds from the project’s budget.Â
She emphasizes that a total of 67 are the new trams the Municipality of Sofia bought in recent years. Mayor Fandakova stated that it was a part of the largest-scale urban transport modernization the Municipality has been able to carry out. As a result of it, in Sofia following are the upgrades made in recent years-Â
- 100% of the trolleys
- 90% of the buses
- Â 50% of trams online
- 120 are the electric buses
The residents of capital, Sofia, appreciate the efforts made by Mayor Yordanka Fandakova to develop the city. The people also called him the most effective and straightforward mayor of Sofia.Â
A regular traveller who uses trams from lines 20 and 22 urges to change the motors of trams because sometimes, the air conditioner doesn’t work. He expressed that temperatures inside exceed the ones outside by at least 10 degrees.Â
