Today, Deputy Mayor of Haskovo Municipality Maria Valcheva and the Haskovo PITSNV team presented the initiatives on the occasion of June 26 – the International Day for Combating Abuse and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics.
Haskovo Drug Prevention Information Center works with children and students in order to implement preventive measures to prevent the use of dangerous substances. More than 770 children were covered by the programs of the Haskovo Preventive Center in 2022, and before 2023, so far, the talks, games and classes have reached 896 students from Haskovo schools.
On the separate programs:
In 2022, 697 students from 5th to 11th grade will be covered in Haskovo schools on universal drug use prevention.
The National Code Name Life Program for Prevention of Drug Use in the 5-7 School Environment worked with 33 students.
The National Peer-to-Peer Program for Prevention of Drug Use in the School Environment for 8-11 Grade Students, experts from PITS Haskovo worked with 49 students from Tsar Ivan Assen II PGDS and Atanas Burov FSG.
In 2023, from January to March, interactive classes on the topic “Dangerous Fun is the Use of Paradise Gas” were held with 340 children from 6-7 kl.
Another 266 students organized interactive sessions on Safe Internet, and 163 students conducted on smoking harms. On the topic “Alcohol and teenagers, the interactive classes of the PITNV covered 127 students.
Now PITSNV Haskovo organizes:
On 21.06.23 (Wednesday), starting at 11:00 am in the large Youth Center – Haskovo hall.
In connection with the commemoration of June 26 – International Day for Anti-Drug Use and Distribution, the Municipal Narcotics Council – Haskovo and the Drug Prevention-Information Center organized a knowledge game, “Healthy and Successful”.
Students from 9-11 grade from nine Haskovo high schools will participate in it. Participants will be asked questions related to the harmful effect of psychoactive substances.
An energetic team from Quiz-Diz Stara Zagora will prepare the game. The purpose of the thinking game is to focus on the harm of drug use and abuse, active communication and competition of knowledge among young people, told today PITSNV Secretary Snezhana Simeonova.
On 26.06.23 (Monday), from 1:30 pm in the large hall of the Youth Center – Haskovo.
Preventively – the Drug Information Center organizes a meeting with Stefan Bakalov, Head of the Drug Trafficking Department of the Customs Agency, with students from Haskovo High School.
Stefan Bakalov’s team will present to young people their cause, “You are not alone”, with a lecture and presentation on new psychoactive substances and their harmful impact on mental and physical health.
At the end of the meeting, a drug discovery with trained customs dogs will be demonstrated. So students will see the real work of the Customs Administration team and opportunities to prevent drug trafficking.
