As per reports, the Elevated Light Railway Station Project would assist local commuters from both Jammu and Srinagar, as it would minimise traffic congestion. The railway project not only has a beneficial influence but also improves the economic quality of life.

The Jammu Srinagar Railway light would be set to run 17 hours per day during the summer and 14 hours per day during the winter.

The Light Railway metro railway Project will begin with several advancements; according to sources, the metro rail lines will have only elevated corridors, as underground tunnels were not found to be feasible, and the metro line system’s coaches will be modern, lightweight, and made of stainless steel and aluminium, with an air-conditioning system.

The Jammu light rail station will be 23 km long, with 22 stops between Bantalab and Bari Brahmana. In comparison, the Srinagar light rail system would be 25 kilometres long, with 12 stations on each corridor, including 12.5 kilometres from Indira Nagar to HMT junction and 12.5 kilometres from Hazuri Bagh to Osmanabad.
