Frontex, the European border and Coast guard Agency reported that Bulgarian customs officers at a Turkish-Bulgarian border crossing recently discovered a car with a ‘private catastrophic help’ sticker on the bonnet filled with illegal products, such as cigarettes, potency drugs and sexual enhancers.
The customs officer said the smugglers didn’t even think twice about putting catastrophic help on his automobile to transport illegal stuff; it was a terrible event for him. He claimed that these people who habitually commit several horrific crimes for money have no sense of understanding.
European border Coast guard Agencies are on high alert, keeping in mind that smugglers never sleep and never hesitate to enter illicit products into the EU, even during human tragedy and natural disasters, such as the earthquake in Turkey.
The customs officers asked for some assistance from the Frontex standing corps. One of them, with a long-standing professional experience in police forces, was able to provide more inside knowledge on potential concealment possibilities in motor vehicles and helped with a further search of the car.
He also interrogated the driver, an Austrian citizen, who revealed more potency drugs hidden in the bags. The department seeks to reach the supplier and gather additional cartel information.
A couple of days ago, at a border crossing point in Romania, Romanian customs, border police and Frontex officers physically checked a container originating from China and bound for Moldova as they got some information about the unauthorised shipping of unknown cargo.
All working closely with the risk analysis unit performed relevant checks, which led to the seizure of 2,670 child scooters. The design of the toys features Disney characters; they are suspected to be bogus. The estimated value for the entire seizure is €106,800.
