New 704 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in the European country, as of March 27 report, according to the data shared in the unified information portal.

Sofia, Bulgaria: New 704 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in the European country, as of March 27 report, according to the data shared in the unified information portal. This brings the overall number of the COVID-19 active cases to 189,422. 

The positivity rate of these new COVID-19 infections stands at 9.53%, which resulted positive from the total 7385 novel coronavirus tests conducted by the health facilities.

Along with this, at least four (4) COVID-19 patients lost their lives to the deadliest mutant in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall number of the COVID-19 related fatalities to 36,429, as of March 27 report. 

Meanwhile, there are a total of 482 patients of the deadly viral illness who recovered from the mutant and got discharged from the hospital facilities. A total of eight-three (83) individuals who contracted the COVID virus were admitted to the hospital facilities in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal, of which 84.34% of patients are unvaccinated. 

The COVID-19 vaccination rate of the European country: 

In Bulgaria, till March 26, 2022, there are a total of 2,049,260 individuals who have taken their recommended number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now in the category of fully vaccinated individuals. This number of individuals represents around 29.6% of the total targeted eligible population of Bulgaria. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 718,166 citizens of Bulgaria who are among the citizens fully vaccinated with taking their third dose (booster shots) of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines, to date, accounting for nearly 10.4% of the total population of Bulgaria, according to the official data.Â
