4 Combat units to be deployed in Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary: President Biden

The decision came after the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) leaders held a summit on the matter in Brussels on March 23.

Sofia, Bulgaria: President of the United States of America – Joe Biden, on Thursday agreed and announced to deploy additional four combat units in Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary. The decision came after the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) leaders held a summit on the matter in Brussels on March 24. 

US President further added that NATO leaders, before their next summit (which is going to take place in the month of June), will develop plans for additional forces and capabilities. The remarks were made by the US President during his visit to Europe, where he went to address the matter of the current Russia-Ukraine war.

The official Twitter handle of the US mission to NATO tweeted, “#NATO is more united and more determined than ever. The United States of America and all Allies’ commitment to Article 5 is ironclad – an attack on one is an attack on all. NATO Allies are adjusting our force posture to strengthen the defences of the Alliance. #WeAreNATO.” 

The Spokesperson of NATO – Oana Lungescu, tweeted, “#NATOsummit| PM @JJansaSDS reaffirmed support to Ukraine & together with other @NATO leaders agreed to strengthen NATO’s posture in all domains + on the importance of close NATO-EU cooperation, incl. to support other partners. #WeAreNATO #WeStandWithUkraine #4newBattlegroups“. 

“SG @jensstoltenberg addressed Putin’s brutal and unprovoked war on #Ukraine with #G7 leaders at #NATO HQ, where he stressed that Allies at the #NATOSummit condemned # Russia’s unjustified invasion & have agreed to step up support for #Ukraine“, another tweet of NATO’s spokesperson further adds. 

Today is the 29th day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which is the largest military assault on a European state since World War II. 

The Kyiv Independent providing the information noted that Russia will end the war on May 9, citing, ” Russia wants to end the war by May 9. According to intelligence from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops are being told that the war must end by May 9 – widely celebrated in Russia as the day of victory over Nazi Germany.”
