COVID in Bulgaria: 25 deaths recorded, 2,605 additional cases

A total of 2,605 new cases of the deadliest novel coronavirus were reported on February 19, 2022. With the arrival of these additional infections, the total toll of active COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria rose to 247,025.

These new COVID-19 tests came positive from the 16,285 total tests conducted by the healthcare authorities of the European country in 24 hours. The positivity rate stands for 15.9 percent, as per the data shared in the unified portal.

A total of 3072 individuals who contracted the virus got recovered and were discharged from the hospital facilities. Meanwhile, a total of 201 additional COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital facilities of the European country.

Among the new hospitalizations, about 84.58 percent were the ones who had not taken their required number of the COVID-19 vaccine doses. The total hospitalizations rate in Bulgaria at the present time stands at 5,399, of which a total of 580 are in the Intensive Care Unit, according to statistics of the official portal.

In addition to this, a total of 1,568 additional doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Bulgaria on February 19, 2022, taking the total number of the administered vaccine doses to 4,273,530.

In relation to the vaccination statistics, there are a total of 2,036,897 individuals in Bulgaria (29.4%) who have taken their required number of the COVID-19 vaccine jabs and are now fully vaccinated.

On the other hand, there are a total of 671,261 persons (9.7%) who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines so far.
