Covid-19: Bulgaria reports 7,263 new cases & 108 deaths in past day

On February 9, the country reported 7,263 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the official information portal on February 10. These cases have taken the tally of the country to 1,018,851. According to the portal, on Wednesday, as many as 30,170 tests were done, out of which 24.07 percent were tested positive.

The death because of the deadly virus has been reached up to 34,152; out of these, 108 deaths were reported in the past day.

So far, Bulgaria has around 262,352 active cases; in the past day, 590 active cases were added to the tally.

Till now, around 6,237 people have been admitted to the hospital due to Covid-19; 775 were admitted in the last 24 hours. Of these, 608 patients are under intensive care.

So far, as many as 722,347 patients have been recovered and discharged from the hospital. Of these, 6,745 people went back home in the last 24 hours.

Around 151 medical personnel tested positive for the deadly virus, taking the tally to 22,012.

As here, 4,226,703 people have taken the doses of vaccines against Covid-19 in Bulgaria; out of these, 7,552 received the jab on the last day. As many as 2,020,190 Bulgarian has taken complete vaccination, and 644,355 have taken the booster dose.

Bulgaria’s national Covid-19 morbidity rate is 1521.84 per 100,000 population on a 14-day basis, according to the unified information site on February 10, down from 1560.2 on the previous day.

Despite such a surge in the Covid-19 cases, Bulgaria has the lowest vaccination rate among nations in the European Union, according to the statics by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s vaccine tracker.

As of February 9, 29.7 percent of Bulgarians got one dose of vaccine, 29.4 percent got the second dose and 9.2 percent received the booster dose.
