The duplicate Botev (Plovdiv) team finished 3:3 against Spartak (Pleven). The meeting of the 24th round of the Second League was played at “Botev 1912 Football Complex”.

Abdoulaye Traore returned to the Canaries, which dramatically changed the level of the team. For the first time since the beginning of 2023, the striker played for the “yellow blacks”, scoring three goals.

However, more than the presence of the talented striker was needed, and Botev lost two points in the fight for survival. Equality today sent Plovdiv citizens to the last place in the rankings.

In the 15th minute, Ivo Varbanov found the result after a poor performance by the “yellow-black” goalkeeper. In the 26th minute, Abdoulaye Traore levelled with a beautiful kick from the penalty field.

In the 36th minute, after the attack of the “blues” on the right, the ball was kicked and fell into Vasil Shopov, who, with a moderate blow, brought Pleven forward, with 1:2 finishing the first part.

The second half started with a few misses away. In the 64th minute, Abdoulaye Traore was brought out alone against the goalkeeper and scored for 2:2. In the 87th minute, Traore scored a third goal, shooting from a small corner, and after a ricochet in the goalkeeper’s body, the ball flew into the gate for 3:2.

The inexperience of the “Canaries” and the extremely young lineup they played in consecutive matches proved decisive, and in added time, the guests reached a third goal. After a short stir, the ball ended up in Santana, who, from the penalty spot, signed for 3:3.

Through its social media account, the club Botev informed that three football players from Botev School (Plovdiv) received an invitation to the camp of the Bulgarian youth national team under 16 years.

These are defender Valery Vladimirov, attacking midfielder Radoslav Karamanov and striker Emil Naydenov. The camp lasts from April 5 to 11 and includes two control meetings.
