Ivaylo Mirchev, a Member of the Bulgarian parliament, reported that the last hours it will be possible to save the Plovdiv Fair are running out.Â
According to him, the only one who can stop the appropriation of the fair from Gergov is the Mayor of Plovdiv, Zdravko Dimitrov. Mirchev stated that he had been looking for the mayor of Varna since yesterday, but he couldn’t be found.
Mirchev stressed that the mayor has disappeared, and no one knows where he is. Mirchev texts him and hopes he looks at his phone at least once daily to resolve the Plovdiv fair deal.Â
He said, “I don’t want and assume even that Mayor Zico may be hiding to expire tomorrow’s term before the fair is finally lost. Here’s what I wrote to the mayor, and 24 hours later, still no answer”.Â
Following is the message Mirchev wrote to Varna’s mayor-
“Hello, Mr Mayor! I’m Ivaylo Mirchev from Democratic Bulgaria. I called you to ask if you would ask the court to suspend the entry of Varna shares in the Commercial Register. Not just whether you will challenge the shareholders’ decision in Paldin Turinvest, because if you fail to parallel stop listing, the capital increase will be a fact, and the subsequent court ruling will be irrelevant”.
Bulgarian Parliament member also included two parallel actions that Mayor Zico have to do:
- Filing a claim to the court to say whether the decision of the shareholders is lawfulÂ
- Requesting the court to suspend the entry in the Commercial Register of the disputed decision of shareholders until it becomes clear whether it is lawful.
Mirchev also emphasised that Plovdiv and the Fair are up to Mayor Zico because Varna’s mayor can only question the court to suspend entry in the Commercial Register. He suggested Zico do what is necessary to protect the interests of Plovdiv and its citizens.
