Bulgarian border police captured ten illegal Syrian immigrants after a chase. The driver was a 22-year-old Serbian national and believed to be a trafficker. He ignored every signal given by the Police to stop driving across the city. The Police finally succeeded in intercepting the immigrant’s car after a long chase in Burgas.

Chief Inspector Zivko Enev, director of the “Security Police” division at the Fifth District Office, stated that the Serbian automobile carrying unauthorised immigrants was reported to 112. They travelled via Nikola Petkov Boulevard, Todor Alexandrov Boulevard, Struga Street, Stefan Stambolov Boulevard, Trapezitsa Square, and Nikola Alexandrov Boulevard before being stopped at a dead end in the Zornitsa neighbourhood.

According to the sources, a ten-year-old child was also among the illegal Syberian immigrants. A local citizen reported the file after noticing too many people in the car.

This is the third illustration of Serbian vehicles carrying unauthorised immigrants. The first incident of Serbian citizen trafficking migrants occurred last Thursday night, the second on Saturday night, and this is the third instance thus far.

37 migrants detained over E-79 main road near Vratsa

According to the press centre of the regional directorate of the ministry of internal affairs in the city of Vratsa, 37 people who were living unlawfully in the country were captured by the Police.

A specialised operation in the area of “Combating illegal migration” was carried out on September 19, 2022, by staff members of the OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vratsa. Following operational-investigative efforts, a truck being driven by a 23-year-old Vidin resident was stopped for inspection at 8:25 p.m. on the E-79 main route near the “Rompetrol” gas station. 37 people, including illegal immigrants from Iran and Syria, were discovered inside the truck. All of them were detained in RU- Vrasta.

At the same time, a car carrying three men from the city of Vidin was stopped for inspection at a truck parking area on the Vratsa ring road. It was determined that the three people who participated in smuggling were foreign nationals. They are all being held in RU-Vratsa. There is now a pre-trial proceeding underway.
