Sofia, Bulgaria: In Bulgaria, additional 919 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours, as per the data shared in the Unified Information Portal, as of March 20, 2022, Sunday. 

The positivity rate of these fresh novel coronavirus cases stands at 11.75%, which have been resulted in a positive out of the 7823 COVID-19 test conducted in a day, the data of the official portal further states.

This brings the total toll of the active COVID-19 infections in the country to 193,074, of which the highest number of infections are recorded in Sofia city with 282, followed by Varna with 132 and Burgas with 114.  

Along with these new cases, 518 COVID-19 patients got recovered from the deadliest viral disease; meanwhile, a total of six (6) additional deaths have also been reported in the past 24 hours. 

The total number of the COVID related fatalities in Bulgaria has increased to 36 272.  

The data of the portal further cites that for the present time, there are a total of 2187 COVID-19 patients in the hospital facilities, and a total of 255 patients are in intensive care units. Additional, sixty-five (65) patients are newly admitted to the hospital facilities in the European country.  

Among the new patients, 78.46% are the unvaccinated ones, according to the official data. Additional 523 WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines dose were administered in the European nation in the time frame of the past 24 hours, as of March 20.
