Sofia, Bulgaria: According to the data of the Unified Information Portal, a total of additional cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours, as of March 8, 2022.

These fresh cases were recorded out of the 21 858 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities on March 7. The positivity of these additional COVID-19 infections stands at 11.26%, the data in the report notes.

With the reporting of new cases, the overall number of active novel coronavirus infections in Bulgaria rises to 207 723, and of the confirmed cases, over 1,103,788, so far. The count of active infections has witnessed a decline of 3523, as compared to the figures of the March 7 report.

Additionally, a total of ninety-one (91) COVID patients of the European country lost their lives to the deadliest viral disease. This brings the total tally of the nation’s death rate to 35 923.

The healthcare authorities stated that a total of 5894 patients of the viral illness recovered and were discharged from the hospitals in Bulgaria, taking the total number of the COVID-19 related recoveries in the country to 860 142.

The report’s data further reveals; currently, there are 2966 patients who are in the Bulgarian hospital facilities, among which 374 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit. Both the numbers have been decreased by 206 and 39, respectively.

The vaccination rate of Bulgaria:
