Sofia, Bulgaria: According to the statics shared by the Health Ministry, the present morbidity rate of the European country falls below 500 out of 100 000 population on a two week- basis. With this, the whole country is now under the category of “RED ZONE” from the “dark red zone”.

The data shared in the unified information portal, as of March 6, 2022, the national morbidity rate of the country stands at 497.33 per 100 000 population on a 14-day basis, which has been declined from 514.92 on March 5, 2022.

On February 27, 2022, the morbidity rate of the country stood at around 759.21, the information in the official portal further notes.

Now, the sixteen(16) districts out of twenty-eight (28) of the European nation are at present put in the category of ‘red zone. These 16 districts are Veliko Turnovo, Vidin, Gabrovo, Lovech, Vratsa, Montana, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Rousse, Sliven, Sofia district (as different from the city), Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Yambol.

The morbidity rate of the aforementioned districts at the present time is between 250 and 499.9 per 100 000 population on a two-week basis.

Meanwhile, around five districts of Bulgaria are currently on the “YELLOW ZONE” list, meaning they have a morbidity rate between 100 & 249.9 per 100 000 population.

The five districts under the ‘yellow zone’ are – Blagoevgrad, Kurdzhali, Kyustendil, Pazardzhik and Smolyan.

The left seven (7) districts are at the present time still in the “DARK RED ZONE”. This means that these districts have a morbidity rate of 599.28 per 100 000 population.

For the present time, the highest morbidity rate is of Varna district, which is 1124.38 per 100 000 population. It is the only district with a morbidity rate above the margin of 1000.
