Sofia, Bulgaria: The number of Bulgarian districts obtaining the COVID-19 morbidity rate above the mark of 500 has decreased now. As per official data, only sixteen (16) districts are present in the COVID-19 ‘DARK RED ZONE’ of the European country.
The data has been of March 3, as mentioned in the Unified Information Portal, according to which the current morbidity rate of the COVID-19 in Bulgaria stands at 601.86 out of 100 000 population on two weeks basis. This number has witnessed a decrease from the previous margin of 641.61 on March 2, 2022.
The COVID-19 situation in Bulgaria has been witnessing an improvement, as the morbidity rate was at 892.35 on February 24, which now has seen a significant decline.
Meanwhile, for the present time, there are ten districts put in the category of ‘RED ZONE’, which are: Vidin, Kyustendil, Lovech, Pazardzhik, Razgrad, Rousse, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia district and Haskovo. The districts that are having a morbidity rate of between 250 and 499.9 per 100 000 population are the ones included in the ‘RED ZONE’.
Two districts – Blagoevgrad and Kurdzhali are in the ‘YELLOW ZONE’. The districts in this category have a morbidity rate between 100 and 249.9 per 100 000 population. For the capital city of the European nation – Sofia, the morbidity rate for the present time stands at 715.52 per 100 000 population.
According to the data shared in the official portal, the Varna district of the European country is having the highest COVID-19 morbidity rate of 1368.6 per 100 000 population. It is also the sole district which is having a morbidity rate over the mark of 1000.
The confirmed cases in the European nation has now crossed the margin of 111,000, the data shared by the government further reveals. Till now, there are a total of 35,716 individuals who lost their lives to the contagious viral disease.
