Bulgaria records 1468 new COVID infections

The European country recorded a total of 1468 additional cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as of February 27, 2022, according to the data shared by Bulgaria's Ministry of Health in Unified Information Portal.

Sofia, Bulgaria: The European country recorded a total of 1468 additional cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as of February 27, 2022, according to the data shared by Bulgaria’s Ministry of Health in Unified Information Portal.

With these new cases, the total tally of the active COVID-19 infections has increased to 220 452. A total of 9,975 COVID-19 tests were conducted by the healthcare facilities of the European country, out of which the COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 14.7 percent.

Along with these, a total of twenty-five COVID-19 patients in Bulgaria lost their lives to the contagious viral disease, bringing the total tally of novel coronavirus related fatalities to 35,482.

The data of the official portal highlights that around 84% of people who recently scummed to COVID-19 were the ones who were not vaccinated.

There are a total of 2083 COVID-19 patients who got recovered from the virus in Bulgaria.

As per the report, in the past 24 hours, additional 1,179 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the European country. The COVID-19 vaccination sites and centres in Bulgaria, so far, has administered more than 463,000 doses of the novel coronavirus vaccines.

According to the statics, as of February 26, 2022, there are a total of 2,044,335 individuals who have taken their recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and are fully vaccinated, representing around 29.5% of the total population.

On the other hand, there are a total of 686,206 persons in Bulgaria who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots of the WHO-approved recommended COVID-19 vaccines, as of February 26, 2022, the data in the unified portal further highlights.
