Bulgaria has reported a total of 8,142 cases of the COVID-19 virus in the last 24 hours on Thursday, February 3, 2022, as per to the data shared by the Ministry of Health presented on the Unified Information Portal.Â
A total of 37,006 COVID-19 tests have also been conducted by the Bulgarian healthcare facilities in a single day. With the arrival of these infections, the active toll of the COVID-19 virus has increased to 257,488.Â
The data further notes that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Bulgaria, a total of 980,402 individuals have contracted the deadliest COVID-19 virus.Â
On February 3, 2022, a total of ninety-six individuals have lost their lives to COVID, taking the total death rate count to 33,588. Out of the total deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 88.54% are the ones who have not received their required number of the COVID-19 vaccine doses.Â
According to the statistics in the report by health facilities:Â
- Total number of the individuals who are at present admitted to the hospital facilities: 6,124
- Total number of persons in intensive care Units: 568Â
- New admissions of COVID-19 patients in the hospital facilities: 863
Around 85.40% of the new COVID-19 positive cases admitted in the hospital facilities were unvaccinated. On the other hand, a total of 5980 individuals have been recovered from the deadliest virus, taking the total toll of the recoveries to 689, 326.Â
According to the data, in total, 4,192,273 vaccine doses so far have been administered in the European nation, of which 10,084 vaccine doses were administered on February 3, 2022. Â
Around 28.9% of the total targeted population of Bulgaria is fully vaccinated by receiving their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine doses, whereas about 9% of Bulgaria’s total population has taken their booster shots, the statistics further notes.Â
