Covid-19: Bulgaria reports 9916 new cases & 70 deaths in past 24 hours

During the same time, 70 people lost their lives due to the deadly virus. According to the latest update on the portal, the total number of deaths reported in the country since the pandemic has begun is 37,587.

So far, Bulgaria has around 222,161 active cases; in the past day, 5,032 active cases were added to the tally.

Till now, around 5,372 people have been admitted to the hospital due to Covid-19. Of these, 624 patients are under intensive care. The count of the recovered patients is 658,492; of these, 4,814 were reported in the last 24 hours.

As here, 4,126,744 people have taken the doses of vaccines against Covid-19 in Bulgaria; out of these, 11,873 received the jab on the last day.

Bulgaria’s national Covid-19 morbidity rate is 1643.15 per 100,000 population on a 14-day basis, according to the unified information site on January 27, up from 1582.23.

As of January 27, 27 out of 28 Bulgarian districts have been categorized as the dark red zones, whereas only one district is in the red zone. The only district in the red zone is Kurdzahi, with a morbidity rate of 499.9 per 100,000 population.

Therefore, the districts in the dark-red zone are- Blagoevgrad, Bourgas, Varna, Vidin, Gabrovo, Kyustendil, Pernik, Sofia district, Sofia city, Stara Zagora, Veliko Turnovo, Vratsa, Dobrich, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Rousse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Haskovo, Yambol, Shoumen, Razgrad, and Turgovishte.

Despite such a surge in the Covid-19 cases, Bulgaria has the lowest vaccination rate among the nations in the European Union, according to the statics by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s vaccine tracker.
