Castries, Saint Lucia:Â The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, as well as the member of parliament serving for the Castries South, Ernest Hilaire, has extended wishes to the general public on the occasion of Christmas.
Minister Hilaire took to his official social media handle to share the list of Christmas schedules that are going to take place in Castries South constituencies.
It is to be noted that the list of schedules by the members of parliament is mainly about the parties that will be enjoyed during the festive season beginning from December 9- 22, 2023, onwards.

- Banane Children’s Party- December 13

- Ciceron Children’s Party- December 16
- Black Cake and Sorrel Competition- December 17

This is not the first time that Deputy PM Hilaire has organized an event for the people of Castries South, but he has always been constant in taking an interest in community affairs, which mainly include,
- Organizing events for public welfare
- Taking part in public gatherings
- To have one-to-one talks with members of the constituency to better understand the on-ground knowledge of Castries South
While keeping in mind the public welfare, the government of Saint Lucia has also approved barrel concession for the Christmas Season of 2023.
Notably, the number of barrels that would meet the requirements for the concession would be restricted to two per household.
It is to be added in the remarks of the Government of Saint Lucia that electronic items are comprehensively excluded from the concessions.
However, the items being sanctioned to this concession will attract a Customs Service charge, which is fixed at the rate of six per cent (6%).
As Saint Lucia is known for its party-hard ethos throughout the year, the country offers various beautiful places for travel enthusiasts to spend their Christmas in one of the most breath-taking islands in the Caribbean.
The Christmas season is one of the biggest celebrations in Saint Lucia’s calendar, lining up fireworks and plenty of tasty food and rum.
