Gold medalists Simona Dyankova and Laura Traets visits Japanese elementary school

Sofia, Bulgaria: Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation informed through its official Facebook page that two Bulgarian rhythmic gymnasts, Simona Dyankova and Laura Traets, visited a Japanese school today. 

The program prepared by the Japanese hosts for the “Diamond Girls of Bulgaria“, who are visiting the Japanese city of Murayama, continues in full force. Olympic champions Simona Dyankova and Laura Traats visited the local Fumoto Elementary School today. The two showed exciting elements with the devices, and each of the children tried to repeat what was shown.

Dyankova and Traats talked about their journey and why having a goal and believing in the future is essential. They also showed the Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold to the children present in school, and everyone touched it with wishes for such great success and for themselves.

Later, the day continued with a visit to the Yamadera temple. Yamadera is a picturesque temple located in the mountains northeast of Yamagata. The temple territory extends high up the mountain’s steep slope, which offers a magnificent view of the valley. To get there, you have to climb more than 900 steps.

The temple was founded more than a thousand years ago, in 860. as a temple of the tandai sect officially named Risshakuji. Its popular name, Yamadera, lmeans “mountain temple” in Japanese.

Along with the Olympic champions are the national rhythmic gymnastics competitor Tatiana Volozhanina and the national team coach Violeta Gospodarska.

Simona Dyankova and Laura Traets were teammates in Rhythmic gymnasts and won gold medals in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Born on December 7, 1994, in Varna, Bulgaria, Dyankova achieved several achievements throughout her career. 

She is the 2018 World 5 hoops champion, a two-time World Group all-around bronze medalist, the 2017 World Group all-around silver medalist 2017, and the European Group all-around bronze medalist in 2018. Dyankova announced her retirement on October 28, 2021.

Laura traets, the 24 year old Bulgarian group rhythmic gymnast, gold medalist in Tokyo Olympics 2020 was born in Sofia on December 13, 1998. Her other acheievments are-
