“Beethoven’s Piano and Orchestra Concert No. 4 has several difficulties for the pianist, but I love difficulties and consciously seek them,” says Galin Ganchev.

He further remarked that he was looking for a bright and sunny mood in this concert, distinguishing this work from most works in his previous repertoire.

I feel a mixture of many different moods, yet an optimistic note prevails. “This is the whole point of the Easter concert, starting with Mozart’s riveting Requiem and ending with the light at Beethoven’s Piano and Orchestra Concert No. 4. The two works are a good combination and bring out a standard spiritual message.

Requiem in R minor, C. 626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the masterpieces of content-oratorial music and an iconic example of mourning annihilation in the spirit of the Catholic canon.

Mozart began writing his last work in 1791. , when his latest opera, “The Magic Flute”, was released. Convinced he would not live long, the critically ill Mozart shares with his wife Constanta that he composed a requiem for his death.

Milos Forman artistically interpreted this fact in his famous film “Amadeus” (1984), in which Mozart’s mortal enemy, the court composer Salieri, offered to write the work under the dictation of the dying composer.

The film’s screenwriter is the great playwright Peter Shaffer, whose play “Amadeus” Stayko Murzhdev turned into one of the most influential productions of the Stoyan Buchvarov Dramatic Theater.
