A few days ago, the municipal council accepted the proposal for another successful procedure for the sports program, which Sofia Municipality started last year with Georgiev’s fellow municipal councillors from the GERB group, Chairman of the Sports Commission Tatyana Georgieva and Mr Anatoly Iliev.

Through his social media account, Georgiev said, “Until now, the stadium in Gorublyane was empty, and sports places in the city are not enough. That’s why a year ago, we promised the active citizens of the Initiative Committee of Gorublyane that this would change. And we kept our word”.

Since then, the Municipality of Sofia have followed all the procedures and announced a public competition, and the Bulgarian Mini Football Association won.

According to the council decision, the municipality establishes a free and term right to build for a period of 20 years on the stadium with an area of over 18,000 sq.m. In return, the Association is obliged to make a sports complex with a built area of 7,776 sq. m. and to invest 1 200 000 leva.

There will be four mini-football fields, a contemporary athletics track with four corridors will be built with street fitness and a playground.

Georgiev also claimed that his unit managed to arrange very good conditions for free sports for everyone – 20 hours a week, the playgrounds will be benefited by students and citizens at no cost.

He thanked the mayor of Mladost arch. Stefan Stefanov for assistance with all the procedures for implementing the project. This is another new sports complex in Sofia under the program of the Municipal Council for partnership with sports clubs and federations.
