Bulgaria has recorded a total of additional 588 cases of the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of April 29, 2022. This brings the overall number of the active COVID-19 infections to 144 889.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 1 155 975 novel coronavirus infections have been recorded in Bulgaria as of April 29. The positivity rate of the fresh COVID infections stands at 6.63%, which has been detected of the 8856 tests conducted the previous day.
At least 14 COVID patients lost their lives to the contagious viral illness during the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll of Bulgaria to 36 901, the data further adds.
There are a total of 3593 patients who got recovered from the contagious virus and have been discharged from the hospital facilities in Bulgaria, taking the total count of the COVID-19 recoveries to 974 185.
According to the data, there are a total of 913 patients with COVID-19 virus in the hospital facilities, including the recently admitted 97 patients. There are a total of eighty-six (86) patients in intensive care units – ICU.
During the previous day, a total of additional 2744 doses of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines.
There are a total of 2,055,194 individuals who have received their required number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now in the category of fully vaccinated individuals. This number of Bulgarian nationals represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population, the official data adds.
On the other hand, there are a total of 744,343 Bulgarian nationals who are fully vaccinated and have taken their booster shots; that is the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, representing nearly 10.7% of the total targeted eligible population, as per the data shared in the portal.
