Bulgaria confirms additional 377 COVID cases

Sofia, Bulgaria: During the last 24 hours, a total of additional 377 fresh COVID-19 cases have been strictly recorded in Bulgaria, as per the data shared in the unified information portal of April 26, 2022. With this, the total number of active novel coronavirus infections in the European country has increased to 156,364. 

These new cases have been detected positive from the additional 4821tests conducted at the healthcare facilities in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of new COVID infections is accounted for 7.82 percent. 

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Balkan state has recorded a total of 1,153,506 confirmed infections of the viral illness to date, the official data shares. 

Two COVID patients lost their lives to the contagious virus during the previous day, bringing the total count of Bulgaria’s death rate to 36,856. 

Both the deceased belonged to the category of unvaccinated ones. For the present time, there are a total of fifty-four (54) newly admitted COVID-19 patients in the hospital facilities, taking the total number of hospitalisations in Bulgaria to 914. 

There are a total of 108 patients in intensive care units -ICU. Meanwhile, there are a total of 693 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the contagious virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of the COVID recoveries to 960,286. 

Additional 134 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours. 

To date, 2,054,632 individuals have taken their required number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully vaccinated against the virus. This number of individuals represents around 29.7% of the total targeted eligible population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 742,428 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose, that is, booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine, representing around 10.7% of the total targeted eligible population.
