Afghan high school graduates have criticised the Taliban’s decision to suspend female students’ enrollment in the next university entrance examination.

The Afghan girls have requested that the Taliban allow women to continue their education. According to TOLO News, a student, Diana, believes they should be allowed to study in class to prepare for the university entrance exam.

Another student, Tahmina, stated that the Taliban does not permit them to take the exam. Tahmina expressed concern about the situation of female students, saying that the Taliban does not allow them to attend classes.

According to Hassibullah Malyar, the head of a private education centre, the students have lost motivation after suffering for a year and now facing an uncertain future.

The Taliban’s decision to suspend female students’ enrollment in the next university entrance examination comes after they announced a ban on females going to universities.

“The students have lost hope because they suffered for a year and now face an uncertain future,” Hassibullah Malyar told TOLO News.

The Taliban has barred female students from taking university entrance exams scheduled for next month, according to TOLO News. The Taliban has informed universities that girls are not permitted to take the exams.

Girls are not allowed to register for the 1402 (solar year) university entrance exam. As per ANI, Taliban decided it after the authorities barred women from working in non-governmental organisations, causing national and international outrage.
