Dominica: Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit has extended his wishes to the students who will be appearing for the Grade-6 National Assessment.
While extending his greetings PM Skerrit shared a note on his official social media handle on Facebook and asked all to join him in sending the best wishes to the students writing the Grade Six National Assessment from May 23rd morning. He wished, God may bless them and guide them.
His wife and Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit also joined him extended her greetings to the students. She shared a reel related to the same and captioned it with a note, “The best of luck to my National Assessment Champions class!! You’ve got this!! May God bless you all!!

Considerably, the Minister of Education, Human Resources Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence in Dominica is prepared to conduct the annual Grade-6 National Assessment (G6NA).
The exams will be conducted for consecutive two days i.e. for Thursday, May 23, 2024 and Friday May 24, 2024. It will begin at 7:45 a.m. on both the days.
As the Ministry of Education this year, more than 800 students will appear for the exam. They stated that a total of 835 candidates will be participating in the exams, out of which 412 candidates will be girls and 432 candidates will be boys. The assessment will be held across 60-centers that are scattered around the island.
The Ministry added to its statement and expressed its enthusiasm regarding the continuation of the online administration of the national assessments.

As per the reports, the candidates will tackle the Language Arts and Social Sciences papers on the first day, along with an additional written composition component included in the Language Arts paper. Following the next day, the candidates will face the Mathematics and Science & Technology papers.
To conduct the exam the Ministry has collaborated with the educators, administrators and technology partners and is prepared for the successful execution of the national assessments.
The exam mainly includes the online components, comprehensive training, best practices and practice test runs. The objective of the exam is to ensure that both candidates and educators are well-prepared to navigate the online testing environment with confidence and ease.
Furthermore, the Ministry has requested the parents and others not to directly get involved with the exam and the school should refrain from entering the compounds of any of the testing centers, while the examinations are underway.
Parents are also advised to allow their children some downtime in the days that will lead them up to the exams.
Along with the Prime Minister and his wife, the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence extended its best wishes to all Grade-6 students for their upcoming assessments.
