Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine, appreciated King Charles III for their continuous support for Ukraine during the time of crisis. “Together with Ukraine, we stand in defence of freedom and sovereignty against nesprokovano ст aggression,” said King Charles.
She appreciates these words and the position of King Charles III as Ukraine immediately found consistent support and understanding in his person.
Ukraine’s First Lady also attends the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla along with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. “She said, “It is an honour for me and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to attend the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, The Royal Family here at Westminster Abbey to wish on behalf of all of Ukraine successful governance and prosperity to the country”.
She noted that both nations have shared values- life, freedom, and democracy. She thanked the UK for their support and assistance delivered to Ukraine during the time of crisis. The Russia-Ukraine War marks 439 days since February 24.
At Buckingham Palace, Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska also met Catherine Princess of Wales and First Lady Jill Biden, First Lady of USA, at the official reception celebrating the coronation of King Charles III.
During her visit to the UK, Zelenska and Denis Shmihal (Ukraine’s PM) went to see the training of Ukrainian military personnel, which they undergo under the Interflex program in the UK. With the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Ben Wallace and the Defense Minister of the United Kingdom, they visited a training camp in Salisbury.
She noted that more than 14,000 Ukrainian soldiers (including 21 women) have been trained in the UK, and over 2,000 are currently studying. ‘
The INTERFLEX military training program of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom began in June 2022, featuring instructors from nine partner countries: Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Lithuania, Canada, and the Netherlands.
The Salisbury Training Camp is one of four where Ukrainian fighters learn essential skills – from tactical medicine to firefighting.
